Lauren

Lauren began studying flamenco dance with Omayra Amaya in 2002, and in 2008 she moved to Sevilla, Spain for a year to study with Alicia Marquez and Isabel Bayon. Since then she has returned each year to study in Sevilla, most recently for a month in 2011 with Leonor Leal.

Lauren has taught on the dance faculty of Boston Percussive Dance since 2009, and she performs frequently in the Boston area, including regular Sunday gigs at BarLola Tapas Lounge in Boston. In 2009 she performed in and produced the show Tablao Flamenco with Antonio Arrebola, Ricardo Diaz, and Vicente Griego. The local television shows Debuts (2010) and the Steve Katsos show (2010 and 2011) have featured Lauren and FlamencoBoston (including Anthony "Antonio Tiriti" Tran, John Smathers, Jamie Belsito, and Anastasia Yendiki). In 2011 Lauren was invited to teach at the Beantown Tap Conservatory and was the guest flamenco dancer in On Tap!, the faculty showcase of the Beantown Tapfest. In Spain, Lauren has also performed at a small venue in Sevilla, Bar Puerta Sol.
